Groundbreaker®: Two new colours for even more groundcover variety

The Hydrangea paniculata Groundbreaker® Blush™ is the world’s first groundcover panicle hydrangea, thanks to its especially compact growth and a maximum height of only 30 cm. Now there’s news: with the two new varieties Greeny™ and Ruby™, the successful hydrangea line offers even more colour variety. Ruby™ starts with white flowers that gradually turn a deep red over the summer, while Groundbreaker® Greeny™ remains green permanently. Both are extremely hardy and very low-maintenance.

The proven Blush™ variety has been available to end customers since this year, and from 2026, Greeny™ and Ruby™ will also be available in the trade – year-round in the P14 pot size, and as flowering stock in 4.6-litre pots during the summer. The plants are presented in striking, colour-coordinated pots and come with a pictorial stake label. Additional PoS materials such as banners and posters are also available, and further inspiration and insights are provided via the dedicated Instagram channel and an extensive consumer press campaign.
