Customer Survey Confirms: Bloombux Enjoys Great Popularity

The boxwood alternative impresses with its positive image and drives consumer demand

Rhododendron micranthum ‘Bloombux’ has long established itself as a flowering alternative to traditional boxwood. This is not only demonstrated by consistently high demand over the years, but also by a recent customer survey confirming Bloombux’s positive image among end consumers.

More than 90% of respondents stated they were extremely satisfied with their Bloombux in the garden. The feedback was clear: “A real eye-catcher and, in my opinion, much more beautiful than if it were just green,” enthused one participant. The flowers, in particular, were repeatedly praised: “The blossoms are simply wonderful in a soft pink tone,” commented another. For many consumers, Bloombux is the perfect replacement for boxwood. One respondent said: “Great substitute for my diseased boxwood – and it even blooms!” The plant's easy-care nature was also a major plus: “A truly low-maintenance plant with beautiful flowers. Great boxwood replacement!” said one participant. Another added: “Never again problems with caterpillars!” In summary, consumer feedback paints a clear picture: Bloombux is a successful combination of attractive appearance, easy maintenance, and eye-catching blooms.

High demand also in the horticultural trade

Bloombux is not only popular with end consumers, but also well appreciated in the retail trade. “We’ve been selling Bloombux at our garden centre for several years. Customer feedback has been consistently positive,” reports Olaf Schachtschneider from the Schachtschneider Garden Nursery in Lower Saxony.

The high level of customer satisfaction is primarily due to the plant’s exceptional qualities. This dwarf rhododendron delights with its pink blossoms in May and June and its evergreen foliage. It is extremely hardy, grows in almost any garden soil – even peat-free – and is winter-hardy to –20°C. Bloombux is also highly tolerant of pruning. With an annual growth of 5 to 10 cm, it reaches a final height of 80 to 100 cm.

Varied product formats and extensive marketing support

Bloombux is available in Pink and Magenta as a bush in C2, C5 and C10 containers, as a ball form in C5 and C10, and as Nugget by Bloombux in TB 10.5. Comprehensive advertising and point-of-sale materials support sales and strengthen brand presence. A strong presence on social media, collaborations with well-known bloggers, and targeted press campaigns further expand its reach.
