‘Shades of Red’, ‘Grazeasy Purple’ & more: Heinje presents new varieties at IPM 2026

Tree nursery from Jeddeloh looks forward to welcoming many trade visitors

For Baumschule Heinje from Jeddeloh, the IPM has been a fixed event in the annual calendar ever since the trade fair began. Once again in 2026, the company from the Ammerland region will not miss the opportunity to present new varieties and highlights at its stand 7E14 in Hall 7, network, and prepare together with customers and partners for the coming garden season. This year, Heinje’s focus will be on the new rose ‘Shades of Red’, the Inkarho rhododendron ‘Grazeasy’, and the groundcover panicle hydrangea ‘Groundbreaker’ in new colours.

Rosa ‘Shades of Red’ is a real highlight. With its intense shades ranging from rose-red to velvety dark red, it truly lives up to its name and delights both in borders and in containers on terraces or balconies. It also makes an attractive and special gift thanks to its healthy and robust nature. The flowers of ‘Shades of Red’ appear from June to August, providing an exceptionally long flowering period. Its upright, bushy growth combined with the striking colour change makes it an indispensable choice for the trade. At Heinje, the rose is available in a 4.6-litre pot.

Among Heinje’s other novelties are the new colours of the INKARHO rhododendron ‘Grazeasy’. In addition to the well-known Grazeasy ‘Dark Pink’ with its purple flowers, the concept range now includes the new varieties ‘Soft Pink’, featuring delicate pink blossoms and chestnut-red new growth, and ‘Purple’, with intensely lilac flowers. All three-colour shades form a beautiful contrast to the elongated dark-green leaves. The abundant flowers of ‘Grazeasy’ appear from May to June. Just like the established Grazeasy variety ‘Dark Pink’, the new ‘Grazeasy’ varieties are easy to care for, robust, and lime-tolerant. The Inkarho rhododendron is offered in a blue 5-litre pot with floral print and an illustrated label.

The new groundcover panicle hydrangea ‘Groundbreaker’ is also presenting itself in its very first year in two additional colours: ‘Greeny’ and ‘Ruby’. ‘Ruby’ first produces white flowers that turn deep red over the summer, while ‘Greeny’ remains consistently green. Together with the well-known variety ‘Blush’, which changes its colour from white to pink, consumers now have a choice between these unique groundcover hydrangeas. Hydrangea paniculata Groundbreaker is extremely winter-hardy, very easy to maintain, and offers a long flowering period of up to 100 days. At Heinje, all three ‘Groundbreaker’ varieties are available year-round in 1.3-litre pots and, during the summer, as plant stock in size C 4.6.

Visitors can also look forward to many tried-and-tested plants and concepts from Heinje’s extensive assortment of over 4,500 plant items. One of the highlights is Hydrangea hybrida ‘Bloombuster’. This meadow hydrangea grows compactly up to 80 cm and tolerates pruning extremely well. From July to September, it produces a wealth of flowers in white, pink, or blue; a summer pruning often encourages a second bloom. At Heinje, ‘Bloombuster’ is available in a 5-litre container.

Rose lovers can also look forward to the rose ‘Knoppi’. What makes this winter-hardy rose so special is that it remains in numerous button-like buds without opening, resulting in a long flowering period of around four months. The distinctive rose is available in red, pink, and white and is offered by Heinje in pot size C6.

The team at Baumschule Heinje is looking forward to welcoming many visitors at their stand at IPM 2026 in Hall 7.
